About

A legacy of service since 1970

The Sterling Heights Lions Club was chartered November 9, 1970 from Lions International. Our gratitude to the Fraser Lions Club for sponsoring this dedicated group.

The Lions Club purchased an old farmhouse and barn on Canal Road. The club renovated the farmhouse and it was the club’s home until 1996, when the farmhouse and the barn were torn down.

The members built a new home and garage where today we have hosted numerous fundraisers and community projects.

These projects include building ramps for the disabled, building playground equipment for Sterling Heights school children, aided Habitat for Humanity in building a home in our district and more.

Supporting Our Community

We support school projects, Christmas baskets for those in need, and birthday parties for abused children. We also back the Visually Impaired Youth Camp, Project Kidsight, and Lions Quest.

Our annual contributions include the Beaumont Silent Children’s Foundation, Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, and Penrickton Center for Blind Children.

Additionally, we assist local organizations like the Polish Veterans Home and Macomb County Fire Fighters Association and proudly sponsor the Sterling Heights Lioness Club.

Making a global impact

We donate thousands of used eyeglasses worldwide, support Leader Dogs for the Blind, the Michigan Eye Bank, and the Parkinson’s Foundation, and organize Red Cross blood drives while contributing to health foundations like Lupus, Multiple Sclerosis, and Breast Cancer.

In addition, we provide assistance to veterans and help support international relief efforts, ensuring that our commitment to service reaches communities in need across the globe. Through these efforts, we aim to make a lasting difference, both locally and globally.
